Defending champions Bayern Munich are up to third on the league standings in the German Bundesliga this season after the big win over capital club Hertha Berlin. Bayern Munich hit their opponents for five at home without any response to show their supremacy thanks to the outstanding performance of star man Robert Lewandowski. The Polish international scored three goals during the game. Canada international Alphonse Davies was on for the entire duration of the game. Canada national team star Davies was the assist recipient for the first goal. He provided the first goal scored by German international Thomas Mueller with six minutes on the clock. Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies has urged his teammates to fight for every available trophy this coming season as he revealed that he is currently working on improving on his performances last season. The speedy left-back held an interview recently where he talked about the club’s new manager Julian Nagelsmann, his aspirations as a Bayern Munich player, as well as what the club, in general, are planning to achieve this season. Davies said the appointment of Nagelsmann as the club’s new manager was a great move because he has shown during his time at his former club RB Leipzig that he is one of the best managers around and at a young age too.
Davies said that he knows his ability and is aware that he did not perform to his full capacity last season but that he is currently working on changing that. He said he is solely focusing on having a better season than what he did in the last campaign, while also adding that he is already looking forward to working with Nagelsmann as he predicts that the team would be playing exciting football under his management. Canada are through to the third and final round of qualifiers in the CONCACAF region ahead of the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament. The Canadians have never reached this stage of the qualifiers as the nation dare to dream of a place in the tournament at the end of next year.
The CONCACAF section of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers has taken a proper shape with Canada and seven others in the third round. The other teams in the third round of the latest World Cup qualifiers include the United States (US), Mexico, Honduras, Costa Rica, Panama, El Salvador and Jamaica. The first set of games in the qualifiers start in September.
Although it appears quite impossible that any transfer will be possible, some clubs are currently showing interest in signing Bayern Munich defender Alphonso Davies this summer. The Canada international star is currently widely regarded as the best left-back in the world of football following the remarkable performances he has steadily been putting in for the German Bundesliga giants in the last couple of months, and those performances have seen him attract interest from several top clubs.

Canada have set a new national team record after the big win over Cayman Islands in the second game of their World Cup qualifiers. Canada have been drawn in Group B in the first round of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in the Concacaf section.

Canada striker Jonathan David was a second half substitute as Lille were knocked out of the Europa League by Dutch champions Ajax Amsterdam at the round of 32 stage. The Canada national team player was not in the Lille starting XI for the away game at Ajax. The Dutch team had beaten Lille 2-1 away from home in the first leg of their last 32 tie last week Thursday. Canada player Jonathan David was subbed on during the second leg with his team trailing by a lone goal. As at the time of his entrance into the game, Davy Klaassenhad given Ajax Amsterdam the lead. Spanish defender Ramon Soria has completed a return to FC Edmonton after agreeing to re-sign for the club. The veteran defender was in talks with the club concerning a return to where he has once called home and whose badge he has previously played so hard for.
FC Edmonton broke the news on Tuesday after they confirmed via official website that the defender has returned to them after initially leaving the club. The 31-year-old experienced defender featured in seven games for Edmonton, playing for a total of 630 minutes at The Island Games. He was the only Eddie’s player to achieve this feat.
