LILLE STAR DAVID ON ARSENAL RADAR

Lille striker Jonathan David is a target for Premier League heavyweights Arsenal according to journalist Ben Jacobs who writes for CBS Sports. According to him, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta and technical director Edu Gaspar would like to sign the Canada national team star when the summer transfer window reopens in a matter of weeks.


Edu and Arteta are said to be a big fan of the Canada international, but a move for him is far from straightforward. Jacobs said that Everton star Dominic Calvert-Lewin is a more realistic striker target for the Gunners the Canada national team player David. The Lille hitman was the main man for Canada as they qualified for this year’s FIFA World Cup tournament on Qatari soil by winning the final round of the Concacaf qualifiers ahead of more illustrious teams such as the United States of America and Mexico. DAVID ON LIGUE 1 GOALSCORERS’ LIST

Canada international Jonathan David is presently on the list of the highest goalscorers in the French top flight this season and his form has attracted some of the biggest teams on the European football stage. The striker has been linked with clubs such as Premier League giants Arsenal, Italian Serie A side AC Milan, Spanish La Liga champions Atletico Madrid and many more.

Apart from being a star player for Lille in the French top flight, David is also leading the charge for Canada as they close in on qualification ahead of this year’s FIFA World Cup tournament. CANADA CLOSING IN ON QATAR SPOT

Canada are closing in on a place at this year’s FIFA World Cup tournament in Qatar after recording three wins from three games during the recently concluded winter break.The Canadians were able to maintain their place at the top of the standings in the third round of the CONCACAF region ahead of more illustrious teams such as the United States of America and Mexico.

If the Canadians seal a berth at Qatar 2022 as expected, it would only be their second appearance at a FIFA World Cup tournament. Their sole appearance was at the 1986 edition in Mexico and it didn’t end well for them. Canada finished last in their group without a single point or a single goal. They lost all their three Group C games at Mexico ’86. Canada began the tournament with a slim 1-0 defeat to France before they recorded a 2-0 defeat to Hungary. Their final group game also ended in a 2-0 defeat to the Soviet Union.

DAVID LEADS LIGUE 1 SCORING CHART

Canada international Jonathan David is the leading goalscorer in the French Ligue 1 this season. The striker has beenin very good form for Lille in the French top flight since the start of the season. The Canada senior national team star has been in sensational form for French champions Lille since he signed for the club from Belgian team Gent at the start of last season.

21-year-old David won the League title with Lille in his first season at the club. He scored 13 times to help Lille finish ahead of favourites Paris Saint Germain (PSG) in the French top flight last season. In total, David has scored 25 times in 56 league games for Lille.

FEE REVEALED FOR ARSENAL, LIVERPOOL TARGET

Canada national team star Jonathan David has emerged as a transfer target for the Premier League duo of Arsenal and Liverpool in recent weeks. 21-year-old David is one of the most in-form strikers in European football and he’s already in double figures for league goals in the French Ligue 1. Canada international David was an important player for Lille as they won the league title last season ahead of Paris Saint Germain (PSG) and AS Monaco who finished in second and third place respectively.

Lille star David has the third most goals amongst the players under the age of 21 in the top five European leagues this seasonwith 11 goals in the French Ligue 1. The Canada international has the same number of goals as Borussia Dortmund hitman ErlingHaaland, while Fiorentina striker DusanVlahovic and Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior has 13 goals and 10 goals respectively to complete the top four players with the most goals under the age of 21.

DAVID, OUTRIGHT LIGUE 1 TOPSCORER

Lille striker Jonathan David is the outright leading goalscorer in the French Ligue 1 after he was on target against leaders Paris Saint Germain (PSG) in the latest set of games. The Canada national team star scored his eighth league goal of the season against PSG at the Parc des Princes.

Canada striker David was responsible for the first goal of the match as PSG came from behind to secure a 2-1 win at home to Lille. MEXICO LOSE TOP SPOT AFTER DRAW

Mexico are no longer at the top of the group standings in the third round of the CONCACAF region as far as the qualifying campaign for next year’s FIFA World Cup tournament is concerned after they were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Canada in one of the three games played on matchday four.

Rivals USA (United States of America) have replaced Mexico at the summit after the draw with Canada on Thursday. BAYERN SECURE THIRD WITH BIG WIN

Defending champions Bayern Munich are up to third on the league standings in the German Bundesliga this season after the big win over capital club Hertha Berlin. Bayern Munich hit their opponents for five at home without any response to show their supremacy thanks to the outstanding performance of star man Robert Lewandowski. The Polish international scored three goals during the game. Canada international Alphonse Davies was on for the entire duration of the game. The Canada player started the match on the left side of defence.


Canada national team star Davies was the assist recipient for the first goal. He provided the first goal scored by German international Thomas Mueller with six minutes on the clock. DAVIES SAYS BAYERN WILL TRY TO WIN EVERY TROPHY THIS SEASON

Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies has urged his teammates to fight for every available trophy this coming season as he revealed that he is currently working on improving on his performances last season. The speedy left-back held an interview recently where he talked about the club’s new manager Julian Nagelsmann, his aspirations as a Bayern Munich player, as well as what the club, in general, are planning to achieve this season. Davies said the appointment of Nagelsmann as the club’s new manager was a great move because he has shown during his time at his former club RB Leipzig that he is one of the best managers around and at a young age too.

Davies said that he knows his ability and is aware that he did not perform to his full capacity last season but that he is currently working on changing that. He said he is solely focusing on having a better season than what he did in the last campaign, while also adding that he is already looking forward to working with Nagelsmann as he predicts that the team would be playing exciting football under his management.
