Canada international Jonathan David is presently on the list of the highest goalscorers in the French top flight this season and his form has attracted some of the biggest teams on the European football stage. The striker has been linked with clubs such as Premier League giants Arsenal, Italian Serie A side AC Milan, Spanish La Liga champions Atletico Madrid and many more.

Apart from being a star player for Lille in the French top flight, David is also leading the charge for Canada as they close in on qualification ahead of this year’s FIFA World Cup tournament. If Canada, qualify for the World Cup tournament on Qatari soil later this year, they would be making their second appearance at the World Cup.

David has been a regular source of goals for Lille this season on the French Ligue 1 scene. The Canada national team player has scored 12 goals in the competition this season and only four people have scored more than him. David is just three goals away from AS Monaco attacker Wissem Ben Yedder.

Mbappe took his league tally to 14 goals this season after his brace during the 3-1 home win over Saint Etienne for his Paris Saint Germain (PSG) team at the weekend. PSG had to come from a goal down to beat their latest opponents on the French top flight scene. Portuguese midfielder Danilo got the other goal for PSG during the game.

Two players are on 13 goals on the list of the highest goalscorers in the French top flight and they are just behind Mbappe. The two players in question are Gaetan Laborde who plays his club football for Montpellier and Rennes attacker Martin Terrier.
