BAYERN EYEING DAVID AS LEWANDOWSKI REPLACEMENT

Canada striker Jonathan David is a possible replacement for Robert Lewandowski at German club Bayern Munich according to the latest reports emanating from the media. Polish international Lewandowski could leave the Bavarian giants this summer with Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona on his trail. The Catalan giants want to sign the striker who has one year to go on his current Bayern Munich contract and they have already made several bids for him. The German champions have maintained that Lewandowski is not for sale this summer despite the interest from Barcelona and despite the player’s refusal to extend his contract.

Barcelona have had bids turned down for Lewandowski by Bayern Munich and their latest offer is around €40m. The Catalans are determined to get their man who’s in the final years of his career. Despite his age, Lewandowski is seen as one of the best strikers in the world. With Barcelona on the trail of Lewandowski, Bayern are already planning for life without him as reported in the media.

German champions Bayern Munich have been linked with a lot of striker targets in the media on the back of the numerous Barcelona bids for Lewandowski. Canada international striker Jonathan David is one of those linked to the club. The Lille star could be the man to replace Lewandowski at Bayern Munich. Apart from Canada star David, VfB Stuttgart striker SasaKalajdzic is also a transfer target for the Bavarian giants.

On David, German newspaper Bild reported that Bayern Munich have a strong interest in the attacker. David would be the go-to man for Canada at the 2022 FIFA World Cup tournament in Qatar in a matter of months. He’s also attracting the interest of several Premier League teams. The likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea are keen on the player who has spent two seasons at Lille.
