FEE REVEALED FOR ARSENAL, LIVERPOOL TARGET

Canada national team star Jonathan David has emerged as a transfer target for the Premier League duo of Arsenal and Liverpool in recent weeks. 21-year-old David is one of the most in-form strikers in European football and he’s already in double figures for league goals in the French Ligue 1. Canada international David was an important player for Lille as they won the league title last season ahead of Paris Saint Germain (PSG) and AS Monaco who finished in second and third place respectively.

Lille star David has the third most goals amongst the players under the age of 21 in the top five European leagues this seasonwith 11 goals in the French Ligue 1. The Canada international has the same number of goals as Borussia Dortmund hitman ErlingHaaland, while Fiorentina striker DusanVlahovic and Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior has 13 goals and 10 goals respectively to complete the top four players with the most goals under the age of 21.

A report from French media portal JFooteux revealed that Lille are not keen to entertain offers for Canada international David, but bids of over €55m could be tempting for the Lille officials.

North London giants Arsenal are said to be in the market for a new striker and Jonathan David has been seriously linked with the club ahead of the January transfer window. Apart from Lille striker David, Fiorentinahitman DusanVlahovic is another young striker who has been linked with the Gunners.

Arsenal are expected to make a move for a new striker with attacking options such as Frenchman Alexandre Lacazette and Englishman Eddie Nketiah on course to leave the club when their respective contracts expire next summer. The Gunners would be left with misfiring skipper Pierre-EmerickAubameyang who has been the main central striker at the club since the start of last season.
